Curiously Guided Podcast

Welcome to the Curiously Guided Podcast, the show for intentional business owners and curious minds looking to combine the inner work and outer work to create a life, business, and career that feels deeply fulfilling & wildly aligned, on ALL levels. Hosted by SEO Strategist, Mariah Magazine & Sales Strategist, Shay Schindler, your two go-to girls for rewriting the rules to success, life, and business in a way that combines strategy with energetics; the inner & outer work, the doing & the being. This podcast started with both of us being in the online business world, craving more deep, meaningful & transparent conversations, so we decided to come together and create a space to do just that. Our guest interviews highlight cool humans doing cool shit, chasing their dreams, and going down their own rabbit holes to create a more sustainable and fulfilling life, in whatever way that means for them. We see this podcast as everything that people won’t share on social media. We don’t give AF about the highlight reels and “proven frameworks”. We love getting in the weeds, asking the tough questions, and doing the work to create a life & career we love, while committing to ourselves & our personal growth. Because only through that lens can we truly create a lifestyle that feels good from the inside out. Welcome to the Curiously Guided Podcast… Are you ready to trust the nudge & let curiosity guide the way? Because we’re excited to shake shit up & live outside the box with you. We love a good Human Design podcast episode, and according to the data behind our episode downloads, you all do too!
In this episode, we’re diving into a piece of Human Design that doesn’t get as much love as the other pieces; the Incarnation Cross.
Your type, strategy, authority, and profile lines in Human Design are pretty straightforward (information-wise), but the Incarnation Cross is where it can get a little complex. It starts to weave in the gates, planets, and conscious/unconscious placements, BUT breaking it down piece by piece makes it not only more digestible, but especially powerful.
According to some resources that we found, your Incarnation Cross accounts for around 70% of the personality characteristics that you’re here to express in this life.
Which is definitely what made it pique our curiosity from the start.
We hope this episode helps break it down & gives examples of how you can start to integrate & explore your own Human Design incarnation cross.
Incarnation Cross Overview:
Your incarnation cross includes 4 different placements:
CONSCIOUS SUN & CONSCIOUS EARTH = EXTERNAL
Conscious Sun = the energy that you’re here to embody - most potent gift & purpose
Conscious Earth = what brings you back to center or what helps you feel grounded
UNCONSCIOUS SUN & UNCONSCIOUS EARTH = INTERNAL/SPIRITUAL
Unconscious Sun = the shadows you’re here to illuminate. The dark that you’re illuminating into light. Your invitation into deeper levels of consciousness. Your triggers or places or shadows.
Unconscious Earth = the spiritual path that you’re here to walk. It builds your spiritual foundation and creates a connection with yourself, your community, the collective, and the cosmos.

Our guest this week, Alex Cottles, is a brand designer that had a story on Instagram go quite viral in the design community, so we wanted to have him on the show to chat about it all.
Join us as we explore the common pitfalls and red flags within the online business world, both from a business owner AND consumer perspective.
“There’s a fine line between marketing & manipulation. And that line is completely blurred now.” - Alex
“We can’t only be using social media to have these conversations. The actual change and change in perspectives doesn’t happen through cancel culture. It happens when you’re having a conversation in a safe space.” - Mariah
Cheers, friends! We hope you enjoy :)
Overview of the Episode:
- Alex’s Instagram story that went viral in the brand design world
- The lack of transparency and context in marketing claims tied to financial promises
- Exploring the push to “create a course” or “create a group coaching program” as the only way to grow your business or scale online
- The constant message to keep learning, keep buying, and keep investing

- How realistic expectations and standards are hurting people
- Putting pricing on your website? Yay or nay?

We were inspired to create & share this grounding meditation for ya’ll after we wrapped up our previous episode with Lara about staying grounded while launching.
Getting grounded in our bodies before diving into work, recording a podcast episode, or hopping on a consult call is a big part of both mine & Shay’s daily rituals.
And ever since the very beginning of this podcast, we’ve made it a habit to do a version of this exact grounding meditation ourselves, (or with our guests, if we’re doing an interview), before we hit record.
For groups, it’s especially helpful for getting everyone on the same page, and we’ve gotten great feedback from our guests after we do this together, so we wanted to share a version of it with you!
Feel free to come back and listen to this grounding meditation as often as you’d like. Enjoy :)

If I could sum this episode up in one sentence it would be: “The best strategy or framework in the world won’t work for your business if your energy isn’t aligned with it or your resources can’t support it.”
This conversation with Lara was such a breath of fresh air.
Hearing her perspective on launching was such a powerful reminder that we get to do business (and approach launching) anyway we want to, as long as it works for us (aka aligns with our values, resources, and inner knowing).
In this episode, we dive into both the strategic side of launching, as well as the energetic side, which created such a well-rounded, fun, yet practical episode.
Cheers, friends! We hope you enjoy :)

Overview of the Episode:
Lara’s journey of following her intuition and trusting herself
Exploring people-pleasing tendencies and how they can show up in business
What healthy boundaries can look like vs. creating them from a reactive state
How taking space or a sacred pause after you’re triggered can change the course of what happens next
What boundaries can we set around launching to help us stay more grounded and connected throughout the phase/process?
What boundaries are important to set with team members in your business?
Redefining what “launching” means and getting clear on your non-negotiables and/or what you’re available for
The KEY to catching team breakdowns before they happen
Tips and ways to help you stay connected to your inner knowing & your team
Launch fatigue and how it affects your programs
Exploring “hype” marketing and “luck” and how they’re a prevalent factor in our industry
How to start finding a launch strategy and creating a process that will work for you + factors to consider along the way
Insight on what it could look like if you’re launching as Projector (in Human Design)
Examples of different ways to launch and where to look for inspiration
Lara’s insights from taking a social media hiatus
